_______________________________________________________________________

NFBV is a non profit organization that features solid organization, reasonable fees, generous player prizes/benefits, great competition, pro level equipment and the opportunity to gain AVP player rating points. Most importantly, members have the opportunity to give
something back to the community through our benefit events.

Our leagues & tournaments play under the international beach rules of volleyball determined by the FIVB & AVP. Our leagues are legitimately competitive and  are intended for those who  prefer that type of game. Our competitive divisions are intended for experienced
players who are familiar with outdoor rules.

Since  2003 we have raised over $17,500 that was donated to local members of our community in need.

Player Benefits:
  • AVP player membership, 15% AVP online store discounts, discounted AVP Pro Tour event tickets, chance to win AVP gear, & opportunity to earn AVPNext national rankings.
  • League tees to all participants

  • Be eligible to win over 40 + individual prizes awarded annually at end of season events. Win cool stuff from Wilson Sporting Goods, SandSkins and SpikeNashbar to name a few.
  • Wilson discounted ball program available to all members, save up to 45% off retail $.

What's New for 2010?
50% OFF of team fees if paid by 3/29/10 in full.
25% OFF of team fees if paid by 4/29/10 in full.
NEW THURSDAY NIGHT 2S LEAGUE. replaces former 3s league. ANY gender combo.
NEW YOUTH BEACH VOLLEY CAMP: TUESDAYS 6/22-8/17, $60 PP INCLUDES TEE & BALL!

Teams may also choose to submit their team registration fees in full.

Fees & Rosters
Team/player fees are $180/team of 4 players each, plus $10 per player for mandatory AVP membership.
Team registrations accepted on first come basis.
NFBV reserves the right to refuse team and player registrations based on previous violations of league code of conduct rules and policies. In fairness to all concerned, intentionally disruptive or consistently profane behavior will not be tolerated. AVP rules (as in past) will
be enforced. Rules may be downloaded at
http://www.fivb.org.

Since this is a competitive league, we do state that play is intended for intermediate to advanced level players. Prospective players must be at minimum 18 years of age, or at least recent HS grads who will be turning 18 at some point during the calendar year. All player,
which we will have registration forms available. Everyone is also required to sign release waivers that certify physical well being and familiarity of AVP/NFBV rules and policies.

2009 Changes to 3's & 4s league formats & end of season tournament

At the end of last season we polled league players (in person and emails) regarding changes to our league formats.
We've listened to your input and have decided to make some changes for '09.
There will continue be a separate league championship for the regular season and  a separate 4s tournament that will be seeded according
to regular season finish. But the tournament will now be open to outside teams.
We look forward to seeing all of you this summer.
-Mike R

Elimination of participation rule. As before, league teams may only play with players listed on team rosters for weekly play.  But there will
no longer be any participation standards for the year end tournament.
Change in coed rule.  Only 2 players of same gender may play without a player of the opposite gender for 4's. Example: only 2 guys can
play without a female player on the court. (was formally 3 players of the same without another of the opposite). Same applies for 3's.

Teams from outside the league will be permitted to enter the end of season 4s tourney on Sept 12th. All league teams who
forfeit 3 or fewer games will be entitled to free tournament entry
. League teams who wish to add additional players for the
tournament only may register for the tournament as an outside team. All outside teams will be subject to a full tournament fee. League
teams who've forfeited 4 or more games will be accepted as outside teams and subject to a tournament fee.

New forfeit policy.

Forfeits will be issued to teams that fail to show on time. 4 or more forfeits and lose free team tourney entry benefit. Any forfeit will count in
the standings as a loss.

Forfeit Exception:  However, if  league organizers are given at least one week notice of an inability to field team for a given week, team
forfeits will not count against free tourney entry. But forfeits will count as a loss in standings just the same.

Teams will be entitled for up to 8 advanced notice forfeits before losing free tourney entry.  After 8 advance notice forfeits, teams will lose
free tourney benefit and have option of entering tournament as an outside team.
Summation of Forfeit Policy:
4 unexcused forfeits= automatic loss of free tourney entry
8 excused forfeits= max before losing free entry fee
All forfeits =loss in reg season standings
*Any team can register as an outside team after losing free entry*
